About us

Mehmet Yaltirik, former manager of a tea house and a supermarket in Turkey, and Gulsen Yaltirik, a chef from Istanbul, together they decided to open their first restaurants in Bordeaux, Saint-Pierre in 2004 under the name AZ Restaurant, which has now become Istanbul café a Turkish-themed bistro run as a family business with their sons.

At Istanbul Café, all our dishes are crafted by a passionate and creative team, carrying on the expertise passed down by Gulsen and Mehmet since 2004, and reinvented with fresh ideas from their sons and the skills of our chefs.

A very pleasant terrace on Place Saint-Pierre, excellent service, and to top it all off, fresh and delicious homemade cuisine. I highly recommend the chopped, not blended, eggplant caviar it’s a delightful twist on the classic! Reasonable prices for the portions and well worth it for the quality!
